Extra Large Backgammon

This very large backgammon board was a special request from a customer through Etsy. It is about 24 x 16 closed, 24 x 32 inches open. The board is created using thicker materials than I normally use, and the final product weighs in at over 20 pounds. This exquisite board could be the first in a line of one-off jobs that I keep on hand for those that desire a very large game board to play on.

For a tutorial on how to make this game, check out my blog page. There are instructions on how all the parts are made. I am in progress in posting those steps, so check back for added content there.

Backgammon

Backgammon is a game that I have been making for several years. Each time I make a new group of boards, I find a new trick I want to try to improve over the last run. I generally make ten to twenty game boards at a time. Each board is handcrafted from raw materials, each piece cut out individually and assembled with care. I pay attention to grain, color coordination, as well as durability of the finished product. Along with the playing board, I make the chips, the doubling cube, and the dice shakers. These are complete boards that would make any serious backgammon player proud to show and use.

CHess

The chess boards I make are a design that I began using a few years ago as a blend of a round over and a cove cut, then a back cut to create a look of a floating chess board. The bottom of the board has rubber feet placed in the corners to protect furniture where the boards are used. I do not supply playing pieces with the boards, but will try to match wood colors to your pieces. I also try to keep the aspect ratio correct for playing piece size. My boards range from 10 inches square to 22 inches square. I am able to ship boards in a way to protect them during transit.

Chessmen Storage

This is a new offering in my shop, a chess pieces storage box that is divided for light and dark chess pieces. The inside of these boxes are lined with black felt, and are held closed with decorative hinges and a swinging latch. The boxes are generally made from walnut and have  a chess board pattern lid on the top. I can make these in various sizes depending on your needs.

Pens

Pens is in our name, we began the business with pens and other items, one off items that we could make on request. We have a large selection of pens, too many to feature on the web site as individual listings. In the sections below I have listed three different sections of pens for small and larger pens as well as bullet pens. To see our wide selection, you would want to visit our booth in November. The information for our booth and show dates are listed elsewhere on this site.

You can also use a virtual pen building tool using the link HERE if you would like to have a custom pen made to order. Our pens feature one of two finishes, either a friction polish that leaves the wood texture available, or Cyanoacrylate (super glue) which leaves the wood feeling smooth. Composite body pens are polished with no final covering unless required for sealing.

Cutting BOards

There is a wide variety of cutting boards on my site and on Etsy. I also can make special boards to your liking, including engraving and inlay work. Send me your idea, and I will see what we can do to make it happen. Face grain boards made from hardwoods are beautiful and last a long time. End grain boards last longer, are more easily engraved and inlaid, and show a grain pattern that face grain will never be able to show. My cutting boards are coated with a mineral oil/beeswax finish that is food friendly and can be reapplied as needed. I can also supply instructions for this easy to make finish.

Small Pens

This section has a group of smaller pens that I have in stock as of July 2020. This is not the complete inventory, but a general overview of the selection I have. I am willing to create a custom pen for you in any available style and material combination.

This group of pens sell for about $15, some slightly more due to material or complexity.

Medium to Large Pens

This section of larger pens include both fountain pens and ball point pens. There are several different styles shown here among many more that are available. Some are twist style, others are capped and remove like old fountain pens but are still ball point.

This group of pens retail beginning at about $35 and going as high as $100. Price depends on the quality of the basic pen kit, the blank used to make the body and complexity of assembling the pen.

Bullet Pens

This group of pens are simulated bullet casings in popular sizes, I also have some pens made from actual brass such as 50 Cal. Most of these pens are 30 Caliber. Many of these have a rifle clip and some have lever action for extending the ink cartridge.

This group retails for about $35 on average, depending on style and material. Actual military brass is slightly higher.

Custom Projects

I am willing to build custom projects, things that can’t be found in stores or custom made to your exacting specs.

The cookbook holder shown is made from music grade Curly Maple. There is an inlay on the back cover that is Peruvian Walnut.

This item was created from pictures of a similar item found online and modified to fit the customer’s needs. I welcome custom projects.
