Scrabble was a favorite game for my family when I was a child. 

This game is a wood version that includes all the necessary components including tiles and trays for four players.

I offer this game in several case materials, this one is Peruvian Walnut.

This is a board that ended up in Honolulu. This is made from a version of rosewood and maple. This particular board has grain character that the photos just do not bring out well. It is very striking in the light of the sun.

This board is made from North American hardwoods, the maple is curly and ambrosia. The ambrosia comes from bugs or disease in wood before the tree was cut, and produces some very unique colors and eye appeal. The walnut is also domestic hardwoods harvested in the Carolina’s. This is a large board, measures about 20″ with 2 1/2″ squares.

This is a custom board request that I made for a customer on Etsy. This board is made from walnut and maple, and features a boarder around the board with my edge detail cut into walnut and padauk edge banding. The edge is mitered at the corners, when open the middle seam is almost unseen. 

Pegs and Jokers

This is a brand new offering that went on Etsy and sold out in just a few days. This game has been a request for several years at my craft booth. I finally made one and found a way to reproduce them consistently alike. Each board had the color painted on that matches the pegs for playing the game. Instructions are also included as well as enough cards and pins to play all 8 boards. I am currently making a new run of these with figured pine and birch playing boards. Hopefully they will be available in the next few weeks.

Here are a few samples of the Shut the Box games I make. Some of them are sold already, the custom lid was initials for a gift. I can engrave initials and some logos on the lids. All of the boxes are one of two basic sizes that I offer, the largest is a 12 tile game that measures about 12″ wide. The smaller game measures about 10″ wide. All are made with box joinery and use rare earth magnets to hold the lid closed. All come with dice and instructions for typical playing rules, however you can use your own.

I recently made my version of a cookbook holder I saw. This holder has a folding panel that raises the clear cover and allows a cookbook to be held open for you. The book rests underneath the clear panel. A tablet can be put on top of the panel using it as an easel. The top panel has a pair of brass hinges that allow the parts to fold. The back panel has brass pins that allow it to pivot. The whole unit measures about 12 inches square when folded. I have several different wood species for this item.

Mexican Train Domino Sets

Mexican Train Dominoes are here!! This set includes a set of double 12 domino tiles, a center hub for starting the game, and 8 train playing pieces for use in the game. All are made from Maple and are larger domino tile sizes, about 1 1/8″  by 2 1/4″ by about 3/16″ thick. The hub is to be about 6 1/2″ across by about 1/2″ thick. The box is Cherry and features box joinery on the corners. The lid is engraved with the game’s name and decorations. The box is about 8 inches square by about 4 inches tall. The game also comes with train tokens that are different colors for each of the tracks in play.
